The room in Schloss Hollenegg in which Odd Matter chose to explore these ideas, is on of the Tapestries Bedrooms. A warm space in red tones, it is an eclectiv mix of different eras and cultures, with seventeent-century tapestries, orientyl objects, renaissance furniture and boiserie doors inlaid with gold leaf. The four-poster bed is in red velvet with a consistency and brightness that, together with the gold leaf and glazed ceramic, are the inspiration for the project. Odd Matter have focused their attention on the old and worn carpet: some parts are lost, some can be preserved and something will be added. They have chosen to preserve a fragment from the old carpet and adda recognisable digital intervention by deformin it. All rest ist lost. The carpet has been hand knotted in Nepal and produced in collaboriation with Nodus.

Birgit Severin of Studio B.Severin, conceptual designer who joined the residency programm at Schloss Hollenegg.

Studio B.Severin has thought of an hypothetical future, when fossil fuels will be scarce, oil will be re-served for high value processes and plastic will become a precious material. As a way of questioning and revaluing plastic, Studio B.Severin has crafted high quality handmade plastic objects. They are made to last and to reveal the material's true value in the centuries to come. Ars Memorandi is a tableware cloche, creating a sensual experience and expressing luxury, like any of the objects of curiosity found in the Kunstkammer of Dresden.
